I presently live and own a wonderful home and studio in Swaffham, Norfolk. This new area has provided me with a diverse range of landscapes, skies and sunsets to paint. I have always needed to paint, draw and make sculpture throughout my life, and consider being an artist as essential as breathing, not a profession. I work to learn about the world around me, working mainly from life on subjects such as landscapes, figuration, portraiture, still life and flowers. I am fascinated by light, colour and composition, and the balance of these three dominates my work.
I mostly paint in oils using an Impressionist palette and have spent many years studying the palettes and techniques of past artists. My Inspiration has always been the truth to nature. I paint, draw and sculpt what I see as honestly as I can. My other inspiraton has been great artists from Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Vincent Van Gogh and hundreds more. I see them and their work as my teachers and friends. I welcome visitors to view my work. If you would like to see my paintings and the way I work please contact me to arrange a convenient time to visit. I look forward to meeting you.
